Believe - Supergirl by KerrithJohnson Believe - Supergirl by KerrithJohnson
“Believe” series: Keeping Heroes iconic but positive.

Spotlight: Supergirl the maid of might!

I hard a hard time coming up with a phrase for Supergirl. I think this works though, even though she always seems to live in the shadow of her cousin, I think what people forget is that she is just as powerful as he is and sometimes in the more modern continuity depected being able to become more powerful than Clark.

So in the end always believe in yourself because you are equal to your awesome cousin. ;)

I went with a combination of the different Supergirls over the years. Mostly 1950’s Supergirl with some modern mixed in.

Nerd cred to anyone who knows the name of the cat!

This poster "Believe - Supergirl" is by far the most impressive, beautiful, magnificent, absolute masterpiece that I have every seen before, even for a Supergirl fan-art.

The poster looks like something right out the Art Deco of the 1940's. Not just that but by the look of it, it looked like it's very old and you did amazing.

I really spot a Kara Zor-El with Streaky at the bottom with Supergirl being the background forehead.

I love the words "Believe in Yourself". I think they make a good moral for the entire poster.

In all in all, this is by far the best Supergirl Poster that I've ever loved.

Keep up the great work. ;D

This entire poster series is really well designed and thought out. This poster in particular show the strengths in the design; nice open composition, clean and clear type, and nice clean use of the vector based imagery. Your color palette is also nice; the vector shapes helped you keep things simple and iconic, while putting a nice restraint on the coloring. The nice deco-ish style feel in the poster is simple but nicely done.

My only two crits would be:
1. Watch out for a few of the tangents the forms make, and take a look at any point where two angles come together. It's not a big problem here, but it does draw the eye to it, and it's simple to fix.

2. I would also make the URL link info smaller; I'm not against tagging a digital image so that as it gets shared around the web people can find you, but if you are building this as a series, why not design that element into the poster, rather than having it dropped along the side?

Great work, and great style. Kudos on the exposure you are getting for it!

Winner, winner, fish dinner! (Since Streaky's a cat)
It was easier to depict him than Supergirls other pet, Comet, the Super-Horse. Oy...

It looks great, and i think the phrase works. I didn't even know Supergirl had ever had a cat.

There were a whole slew of Superanimals back in the day. Just don't ask about Comet the Super-Horse....sigh...

This is a very cool picture. I love how you balanced the power she holds in her superhero form with her relaxed, "modern girl" form in the middle of the picture.
